This RAB Lighting STL360W Super Stealth sensor has a 1,000 watt incandescent and 500 watt fluorescent switching capacity, a 180 degree out and 360 degree down detection pattern, and is suitable for switching lights on and off according to the presence of daylight or a heat signature within range of the detection pattern. It has built-in surge protection of up to 6,000V, and a photoelectric control that automatically deactivates the unit during daylight if desired. It compensates for ambient temperature and has a manual override feature that resets itself to automatic at dawn. Both the detector sensitivity and the switch-on time are adjustable. This white sensor is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed as suitable for use in wet locations. It can be used in a variety of outdoor switching applications.

WOW – it works GREAT!
I’ve gone through so many of the cheaper motion lighting sensors I’ve lost count. When you buy a cheaper sensor it might work well for a while…however you will be climbing back up your ladder and removing it sooner than you would like (my experiences).This RAB sensor is rated to 1000 Watts which means the circuitry is more robust and uses quality components. So far my totally exposed sensor has been subjected to torrential rains, 60 mph winds, cold damp fog for weeks and temperatures down to zero F. Not one glitch in over 4 months of operation. The triggering of the three 100 Watt halogen lamp heads I installed in the mount base is very predictable/repeatable. I really like the 360 downward detection (no sneaking up along side the building on this baby) in addition to having a fairly long range outward facing detector. The installation documentation was excellent. I really like the fact that they even include a “third hand” (the little J-hook thingy) that allows you to hang the back plate on your junction box while you are wiring it up and standing on a ladder. The red roving LED’s in the front lens bezel (remind me of KITT the Knight Rider car) are effective in letting you know its searching for any motion and is “on duty”. I would highly recommend this series detector if you appreciate quality, reliability and robustness. I would definitely buy again!PS: Make sure you do not connect this sensor to a circuit that has a motor (garage door opener) or other high start current device on the circuit. It is not recommended per the included instructions and might be related to some of the resets that others are experiencing.

Best and most reliable light sensor I ever had!!!
The RAB STL360W Super Stealth Sensor for lights is hands down the best sensor I ever used! This is my second one. My first controls the back garage lights and has worked perfect for the last 4 years. It triggers reliably no mater if it’s windy or snowing. I get virtually NO false triggers which most sensors trigger often when it’s windy or cold. I originally had another sensor in an open ended shed so it would light when I walked in but even though I tried everything I knew, could not get it to stop false triggering most windy nights! I finally had enough and just purchased my second STL360W to control the lights inside my shed and it has worked perfectly including during recent wind storms and down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit! I’m very happy with this solution!

Best motion sensor I’ve every found yet!
Replaced an old sensor on my garage, and this has true 180 sensor to driveway detetection. Even detects slow moving cats that are trying to creep past without setting off the lights. Very easy to install, I have a sensor ONLY installed that triggers the garage soffet lights and walkway lights. I highly recommend to anyone that is replacing an existing sensor or needs to install a new motion detector. I also noticed that this sensor is not affected by blowing winds and rain like the old sensor. During a recent rain and 30 mph winds it only went on once when a large black pastic trash bag blew up the drive way. ALso does not seem to be sensitive to weather conditions that would make my old sensor come on and go off for long period of time.Update July 2011 – Ok have lived with it a several months and I still love it – great sensor and light – they only pain is that it is so sensitive that the neighbor cats can’t seem to find a way to sneak past it (lights go on). We have a lot of windy weather and my old light would go on and off for hours – this light does not seem to be affected by such problems. If you have any trees that blow around inside the detection pattern it will of course come on (detected motion).

There are small red LEDs that flash during operation- they are barely noticeable and the lights will likely come on before you could get close enough to see them. I like the multiple adjustments. Kit is very complete. I mounted it under an eave to protect it from weather as was recommended, and it turns on my existing porchlights. Amazon’s picture is upside down.

Best Real Time Motion Sensor
I have two full set of this product which included lights which I had test and love it already because it can detect anything quickly than cheap sensor from store. Indeed it is expensive in fact, but worth it because 380 degree anywhere bottom and surround catch by sensor and lot of option adjustment. I purchased this because I have two separate light on both side and this sensor at corner so anyone walk on both side will trigger three lights which two on both side and one inside small room will illuminated quickly when you arrive home late in night will feel safe. Honest I think this brand name sensor is best one I know so far. Thank you have this product to sell which I need for my project. Thank you.
