Beautifully Built, Lovely to Type On — But a Few Keys Are Hard to See
The LOFREE DOT Lipstick Elegant 84 Keys Mechanical Keyboard is easily one of the most striking keyboards I’ve ever owned. The retro round keycaps, the lipstick-inspired color palette, and that adorable silicone lipstick Escape key all come together to create a design that feels both elegant and fun. It looks amazing on a desk, and the build quality really surprised me — everything feels solid, premium, and genuinely nice to touch.Typing on it is a pleasure. The Gateron linear switches are smooth and responsive without being too loud, and the gasket-mounted design gives each keystroke a soft, cushioned feel. It has that perfect “thicc” sound that mechanical keyboard fans love — not too clicky, not too muted.Functionally, it’s great. You get Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C wired options, and it works seamlessly with both Windows and macOS. The white backlighting is subtle and classy, and the battery life is impressive. Hot-swappable switches are a nice bonus for customization down the line. Even the packaging is gorgeous — it comes in a shiny, gift-ready box.My only complaint: the bottom row keycaps are a very dark shade of lipstick, and the letters are hard to see, even with the backlight on. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does impact usability.Overall, this keyboard is a beautiful blend of style and performance. If you want something unique, well-built, and delightful to type on — and don’t mind squinting at the bottom row — you’ll love it.

Stylish, Comfortable, and Fun to Type On
This keyboard stands out right away with its unique retro-inspired design. The keys feel smooth and responsive thanks to the Gateron linear switches, and the gasket structure adds a nicely cushioned typing experience. I had no issues connecting it through any of the three modes, and it worked well with both Windows and macOS.The white backlighting is subtle but helpful, and the hot-swappable feature is a great bonus for customizing switches later. The keyboard has a bit of weight, which makes it feel solid on the desk.A great blend of aesthetics, build quality, and performance.

    Gorgeous as always from LOFREE
This keyboard is so absolutely gorgeous and the colors are amazing. The key caps are very well made, and are very high-quality and I love the little lipstick silicone escape key. My partner loves it and thinks it feels amazing and has great. Sounds when you use the keys. They’re not too clicky and not too muted and are just the right amount of thicc. Functionally it works very well either wired or connected via Bluetooth however, typically I use these connected via wire or through the dongle. The size is great and I love having the numb pad separate my partner loves this very much and the box itself was a beautiful gift case. It was so shiny!

    What a cute board!
I’ve been a big fan of Lofree keyboards for a while, and this DOT Lipstick model is just as charming as I hoped. The design is adorable and elegant, and the white backlighting adds a really nice touch without being overwhelming. I love that it’s hot-swappable and rechargeable, and the wireless functionality with three connection modes makes it super convenient for switching between my devices. Typing feels comfortable thanks to the gasket-mounted design, and the keyboard overall has a solid build that feels sturdy on my desk. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is the sound of the switches with these keycaps. I personally prefer a creamier or thocky-style sound profile, so this one doesn’t quite hit that for me, but that’s really just personal taste. The feel and performance are still excellent, and the keyboard is a joy to use. It’s a stylish, functional, and fun addition to my setup, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves cute, well-made mechanical keyboards.

    A Stunning Showpiece 💄
I absolutely love the Lofree DOT line. After trying the foundation model a while back, I was already hooked. But the lipstick edition completely won me over. The color palette is super rich and vibrant, the keystrokes feel so smooth, and the little lipstick shaped escape key is such a key (pun intended) detail and iconic touch. It’s the kind of detail that makes this keyboard also feel like a collectible piece of art.It can connect via Bluetooth, 2.4G, or wired. Out of the box, I couldn’t use it with 2.4G right away as it needed some charging. Once it was fully charged, the wireless connection worked seamlessly. It even comes with the cutest “makeup brush” style cleaning brush, which I actually find super useful since I already own quite a few brushes that have been very “loved”. So getting a new brush was super nice. Considering how maintenance is very much needed with how easy it is to build up dust in your keyboard, this was a very well thought out detail. If I had one tiny wish, it would be for the keyboard to have a black base instead of silver. But honestly, it’s still so elegant that I can’t complain. Between the looks, the feel, and the quality, this is hands down my favorite Lofree DOT model so far.

This is the first true looks-first aesthetic keyboard I’ve tried and I have to say, I’m a fan of the unique design! I love the range of colors and lipstick caps. It feels quite nice to type on once I got used to it. My daily driver for the past several months is also an 84-key keyboard, my Lofree Flow Lite 84 with low profile keys whereas this DOT Lipstick keyboard is not low profile. The transparent plastic body has heft to it so it doesn’t feel cheaply made or fragile. It weighs in at over 2 pounds (971.5g). I like that the keyboard has tall rubber feet on the backside to prop the keyboard up at a more ergonomic typing angle for my wrists (although I’ll note the feet aren’t optional, as they can’t be folded down or removed). There’s a USB dongle slot along the back edge to store the 2.4GHz receiver, which is always an appreciated design feature. It has tri-mode connectivity so you can connect via the wired USB Type C connection (with right angle USB-C plug), the 2.4GHz dongle receiver or via Bluetooth connectivity. You can Bluetooth pair the keyboard to up to 3 devices and swap between them seamlessly. I like this range of connectivity options and the ability to pair to more than one device (between my work laptop, home desktop PC and smart TV or mini PC). Sometimes keyboards only offer one wireless connection method – not so in this case.To switch between wired and wireless mode, flip the switch on the back edge of the keyboard:WLS: wireless (BT or 2.4) Press FN + 1, 2 or 3 for Bluetooth pairing/switchingCAB: wired USB-C modeOFF: power offI think the only thing that could make me love it more would be for it to have shine through legends on the keycaps, but that would maybe be too complicated to design with this style of dual-layered colored base key with transparent acrylic plastic overlay. It is backlit but not RGB though, which I don’t mind. The simple single-color white backlight (5000K) is very classy, and you have a range of 7 lighting effects to cycle through, and you can tweak the speed of the effects (Light Frequency) and the brightness level of the backlighting too. To do this, press FN + Up arrow to change light effects, FN + Left/Right Arrow to increase/decrease frequency respectively. There’s a little LED indicator that lights up when you have CAPS lock on located on the little silver aluminum accent on the left-hand side of the keyboard, right below the Caps key.The switches are Lofree Gateron (40g actuation force) and hot swappable, compatible with 3 and 5 pin switches. This way, you can customize it if you prefer tactile feedback, or a different sound and typing experience with your mechanical Lipstick keyboard! The ESC key is a lipstick tip – so cute!Battery capacity is 4000mAh, which should last a long time before having to be recharged, especially if you use the backlight on low light intensity. It took a while to fully charge it when I first unboxed it – the charging time from 0% to 100% is estimated to take ~5 hours.Whether or not you’re into makeup or collecting keyboards, I think there’s a fair amount of folks who would be enthralled to have it sitting pretty on their desk as the focal point of their set up.

If you’re looking for a stylish keyboard that will catch people’s attention and start a conversation, this LOFREE DOT Lipstick Mechanical Keyboard will definitely do that. First of all this is an 84 key keyboard so it’s very compact, but the keys are nicely spaced so it’s easy to type on. The feel of the keys is smooth with good travel and they’re very responsive thanks to the Gateron linear switches. They have a satisfying “clack” when pressed but are not nearly as loud or mechanical sounding as the keys on the LOFREE Flow Lite keyboard that I use.The keycaps have a lipstick inspired design and the ESC key actually looks like an open tube of lipstick. The tops of keys are transparent with the color layer just below the surface. They have black lettering that works well for most keys but the bottom two rows of keys are very dark so it’s almost impossible to make them out even with the back light turned on to its highest setting. The keyboard has tri-mode connectivity so you can choose to connect using the included USB-C cable, the 2.4GHz dongle or via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection is very convenient because it allows you to pair with up to 3 devices and swap between them at will. Battery life is pretty impressive thanks to the built-in 4000mAh battery and smart power saving mode that turns off the back light when the keyboard is idle and you can expect to get about 14 days of normal use per charge. The keyboard arrived partially charged and the initial charge did take about 4.5 hours to get to 100%.While this keyboard looks great and is pretty nice to type on, the style just isn’t my thing, so I’ll be giving this to my wife since she absolutely loves the way it looks.

It is legitimately a nice keyboard. The lights have a light pink hue which goes well with the lipstick colors. Keycaps are soft, have some friction, and the key profile is great to type on. The keys themselves also do not attract fingerprints easily.Stabilizers are a treat. They don’t have any pinging, clicking, or other unwanted sounds. They’re well lubed and travel without any issues. The keyboard is held together by a combination of plastic clips and screws. The screws are hidden underneath some rubber pads on the bottom – while this limits modding, this keyboard really doesn’t need any. The sound is great out of the box with an excellent typing feel, no scratching or excessive friction when actuating keys.Stem wobble is approximately 1 mm in all directions, though that is due to the switches, not the keycaps. The keycaps fit firmly on the stems and don’t show any signs of falling off or loosening. The gasket is quite firm. It definitely does make a difference, but only slightly.LoFree advertises this to not have any metallic pinging on their website for this keyboard – while that is true, metallic pinging is really only a problem for aluminum frames or metal top frames, which doesn’t apply to this at all. The materials are POM, ABS, PC, and PBT. Which brings me to who this keyboard is for, and that’s for someone who wants just to have a unique or lipstick keyboard. That sounds obvious, but it really is only for someone who wants this aesthetic. While it is well-built, it’s also quite expensive – for the same price, you can get an excellent aluminum keyboard, with better modding capacity and arguably better materials. You are mostly paying for the unique build and the keycaps, which isn’t a bad thing, but does mean you should make sure it’s what you want first.Overall, a great out-of-the-box experience. Smooth switches, soft lighting, and unique keycaps all come together to create a distinctive keyboard, but if you don’t mind a more common aesthetic, you can get a better built keyboard for less. In the end, it does come down to your personal priorities.

I have used other LOFREE keyboards in the past and am becoming quite the fan of what they make. This is one of the more unique themed keyboards I have used and really am here for it. The attention to details is obvious and the final product is excellent in my opinion. The key caps on the board are really what makes the whole lipstick theme pop, they really do look and feel like lipsticks. With that said, it does come with some drawbacks, mostly to visibility. The keyboard has a white back light but this only shines around the keys and not through. The font on each key is thin and black, it looks fantastic but makes it practically unreadable (in low light) on the bottom two rows where the shade is much darker. This is not really a big deal for a more experience typer but could be problematic for some. The typing feel and sound is really good to me, using the keyboard is a real joy. The keys are soft with round edges, the sound the keyboard makes is on the quieter side yet still audible. The keyboard can be used with both a Windows or Mac layout, it has a physical toggle for this. It also works wireless through Bleutooth or the included 2.4Ghz dongle. The dongle also has a spot to store it on the keyboard when not in use which I love. It can be used with the included USB-C cable, this cable is also used to charge the battery. I do wish they had done something more on theme with the cable but it is simply a grey USB cord, however functional.Overall I really love this keyboard, it looks and feels very premium, it is one of my favourite boards to type on, it sounds great, and has a very unique theme. I understand this is not for everyone and is a bit niche but for the right person, it is an excellent keyboard.

Visually, I really like this keyboard. It’s so unique and interesting. The downside is that the pretty keycaps get darker in colour towards the bottom row but keep the same black legends, which makes them more difficult to read. The bottom row especially is very hard to read without having direct lighting over it. The backlighting does nothing to help this, either. It actually makes it worse. With that said, I’d think the majority of people buying an expensive, premium keyboard like this one probably don’t need to look down while typing. My only other issue with this keyboard is that the keycaps have a tacky, almost sticky feel to them, which I found pretty unpleasant to type on. I let everyone else in my house try it, and none of them noticed enough to mention it. Since it’s only me that seemed bothered by it, I gave it a pass, but I still thought it was worth mentioning. It worked well both directly wired and over Bluetooth connection, and functionally I had no issues with it.
