This 2-pack of Kidde Smoke Detectors are a great addition or replacement for your old smoke detectors. Easy to install . I’ve had no false alarms and test button makes it easy to test the unit. Battery life of 10 years sure makes my home safe. Great value for the money. Much cheaper price as compared to buying in my local box store. Buy this 2-pack. You won’t be disappointed

Just a smoke detector
We have seven hard-wired smoke detectors in our house, but interestingly, the home builders did not install a detector near our basement appliances (washer and dryer, furnace, water softener, air exchange unit, etc.). If one of these appliances were to catch fire, or a fire happened to start in that region of the house, there would be considerable damage before one of the other detectors in the house could let us know that smoke was detected. But since our budget could afford the cost of an electrician to come to the house and hardwire in an eighth detector, we went with this 10-year battery smoke detector.The green light on the front doesn’t work, but when I push the test button, the red light illuminates immediately and an ear-piercing alarm begins to sound, so I know the unit is working. So this is why I give this unit 4-stars rather than 5. And if it fails before the 10-years, I’ll come back and lower this from 4 stars to a 2 or 3.

False alarms! Don’t buy this product if you want a good night sleep!
Worthless products. I bought 8 smoke detectors and one combination CO/smoke unit with the hopes of not having to mess with them for 10 years. This device and one of the smoke detectors have given false alarms which activate my security system. The first time I was out of town, so the fire department got called out. This was early in September. The alarm system audible interface was dropped during a battery replacement, so I replaced that device thinking it was at fault. Friday 9/12 at about 10:00 PM the smoke/CO detector false alarmed and set the system again. Fortunately, I was home and was able to disarm the system and not have fire trucks at my house again. I replaced the unit with an extra smoke detector I purchased. Last night about 11:30 PM the smoke detector in a spare bedroom false alarmed and scared my wife really bad.There has been no construction activity within my home.Long story short. Poor product! Kiddie will not issue a refund just gives lip service. These will be going into the trash and I won’t use another Kiddie product in my home, business, or rental properties. If you want a good night sleep, buy something else. These detectors are going into the trash.

Sensitive regular cooking and a vape triggers them
They work. I hate them. Can go off during normal cooking. Triggered by vape. I’m sure if you are an in door smoker it will go off for those too.They are fine as it’s only once in a while.5 star because they do work. Better to be over sensitive than not sensitive enough I guess.
