    Great, Long-Lasting Smoke Alarm Brand!
I bought this as a replacement for a 10-year old First Alert Smoke alarm in my son’s room. I was hoping it would just screw in to the existing bezel that comes with it but it is a lot different. So be prepared to remove and install the new one. I was able to use the same screw holes as the old one though, so it was nice to not have to make new holes in the wall. Seems to be a good quality, I had to jiggle the battery around to get it to engage. It is battery-operated so there is no wiring to mess around with and makes it easier to install. The alarm sound is loud (as it should be) and it doesn’t chirp randomly like my other one started doing (even after the battery was changed). This is a great brand and my last one lasted over 10 years and I still have other First Alert Smoke Alarms in the house that I test and are still going strong after 10 years.

Small low profile; works, much nicer than larger units
Petite little cuties that were the easiest install of any smoke detector ever. I had to replace all 6 in my house (they were 20 years old). The font in the instruction guide was micro, so I used a magnifying glass and the readability was fine. The are compatible with any room because their tiny size and profile keeps them un noticable. I tested each one before installing and they all function. The box came with all 6 smokes, all the needed screws, and 2 anchors of each smoke incase you need them. Very pleased

Cheap alarm for peace of mind, easy to replace if there’s a problem
Bought this alarm to replace our “we changed the batteries last month, why is it intermittently beeping” alarm. This one is so sensitive that it goes off when the oven’s on BROIL.The good news is that it’s really easy to turn off for a false alarm; just press the button on the alarm’s face. It’s easy to install and comes with instructions and hardware. If you are purchasing a replacement, you don’t even need to install hardware. You can easily twist this on to an existing plate (again, if it’s a replacement – worked for us, your mileage may vary). We purchased new smoke alarms <5 years ago, have replaced the batteries several times, and are now replacing the alarms themselves.PRODUCT CLAIMS- ionization sensor for smoke detection - I'm not sure about this, but we have one outside of the bathroom, and it does go off during particularly steamy showers- battery operated alarm unit monitors during power failure - We've had no issues (and, if anything, more peace of mind) during times without power- easy to install - VERY easy. You need a drill or screwdriver. That's it.- single test/silence button - Easy to find, easy to turn off, easy to test. Battery is easy to check and change with the side battery door.If you need a smoke alarm at a good value, and don't mind replacing it a few years down the line, this is the product for you. For this price, it's easy to get one for each bedroom and floor of your home (as they recommend). Keep a few extra 9V batteries handy in case you need to replace one at an inconvenient time.

Good, reliable, and affordable. Better than AC detectors.
I replaced all of my hard-wired smoke alarms with these battery-operated alarms. They work great. No more chirps that are difficult to track. I put a reminder on my cell calendar to change all the batteries every year and I’ve had no issues. The alarm is loud and easy to test while standing on the floor with a broom handle.

Easy to install and takes less than 15 minutes
Got tired of my incompetent maintenance team servicing my apartment. Always installed faulty smoke alarms that would beep after a day nonstop or at random times of the day with no smoke or issues. Installed this myself and it’s hell of a lot easier than whatever brand they chose, it’s more user friendly with an easy as pie way to swap out batteries without having to unmount the alarm. Best part though? It’s been what, a month or more maybe since I’ve gotten it? Not a single unnecessary beep unless it ACTUALLY picks up on smoke. Its been quiet as a mouse and I no longer have to wake up in the middle of the night contemplating if it should eat a 9mm for breakfast. Very happy with this brand and this product and thank you for the beautiful sleep.

    Works Like a Charm!
This 2-pack of battery-operated smoke alarms is very satisfactory. I bought them because my 50 year-old home contains 2 hardwired AC smoke alarms. Normally they work fine. But in cold, dry winter weather they will alarm incessantly whenever it gets around zero degrees. I have to shut them off or go crazy! So I bought this pair to use in the winter. They are small and convenient. I’m not going to permanently mount them. I laid one on top of the refrigerator, and the other up high in my bedroom, both upside down. I quickly learned they work well. I turned on my oven, which for some unknown reason issued some smoke in the kitchen. The new unit immediately sounded off! I was quite pleased.

I bought a new alarm from Amazon, it arrived quickly and then I did something I wouldn’t normally do … I check the manufacture date. The unit was 6 years old!!!! The sensors in the alarms degrade over time from date of manufacture. Why would anyone pay for a smoke alarm that has a 10 year life span and only get 4 years of use of it? RETURNED.

Fortunately, haven’t had to test these against both types of fires. I could replicate a self-test and just haven’t gotten around to doing it. What I can say is the batteries need replacing a lot more frequently. Have at least 5 of these in my house and I they beep for a change every 3 months. I could’ve let the more common, ionization smoke alarms go for years without a battery replacement. I was pretty good about changing them, but there were a few times I’d forgotten over 40 years and never had alarms screaming at me for new batteries frequently. Hope they do work. Ive been through a fire and the type of fire alarm I had was designed to pick up direct ionization fires and mine was a photoelectric fire. Half my upper floor was immersed in smoke and destroyed and the ionization alarm didnt pick it up. Ever since, Ive followed the fire dept’s advice and use dual smoke alarm. Hopefully, if will never happen again, cause I’m counting on these to actually detect fires quickly.
