Solid 4.5 – Worked for almost 4 years
Pros:Works as plannedSet it up one time and never have to do it againUseful when plugging in extra USB when the PC or Mac has limited USB portsUSB 3.0 – Faster data speedsWill power devices from computers USB port. Doesn’t need power supplyOne device for all my USB needs.Cons:- Power Supply broke after almost 4 years of use. So when I removed the cable my computer all devices needing usb power (i.e. desklight, fan, charging of headset) stopped working. Need to purchase a new one.- Only one Power Port. For me, I want more USB power ports to use with my phone, tablet, fan, light, headset or other devices needing power.Overall a solid 4.5. I loved how simple it is and how it kept my desk cleared from USB electrical power plugs

A Great USB Solution
I had so many peripherals connected to my PC Tower/Server that it would freeze on boot-up. I also had a USB line connected to a large safe for the data storage drives located inside the safe. After some research, I ordered two of these highly rated, Atolla, powered hubs. I removed all of the USB connections from the PC Tower/Server and connected everything directly to this self powered USB hub. I then connected the input of this self powered USB hub, to the USB connection on the PC Tower/Server. I placed the second of these Atolla, powered hubs inside our safe. There, it presently powers three data storage drives and allows for future expansion. This solved all of my USB problems with virtually no power drain on the system’s internal USB ports. This hub will work without plugging in the included wall-wart, power supply. However the added power boost of the AC connection makes everything work better. The individual power switches on each USB port is a great feature. One can turn off the unused ports. I can only see 2 negatives in the design. I wish that it had an in-line power supply with a regular electric cord. The included wall-wart, power supply is large and difficult to plug in to a power strip with other items. I also wish that the hub would automatically shut off when the computer is turned off and/or when there is no USB signal feeding the hub. In self powered mode, it stays on 24/7, which translates in to your USB peripherals being continually powered. Over all, this a great product. It is a major upgrade to any computer. Update: After using these self-powered hubs for a while, I would offer a tip. They do a great job but when using more than one hub connected directly to the same computer, I had a little glitch on boot-up. The problem was eliminated by feeding the second, self powered hub, from one of the USB ports on the first self powered hub. (daisy-chained) This worked much better than having both hubs connected directly to the same computer.

Great for audio devices.
I will give it 5 for now. Nice 5G USB hub.I was impressed on the audio quality thru my connected device’s. I run HAM radios I bought this so I could expand my USB power port range and end up really enjoying it for the data Hub as well. All hum from all of my devices immediately went away plugging it into the hub. Only had it a few hours but I’m already super impressed

A good USB hub for a change
I needed to replace my powered USB 2.0 hub for my MacBook Pro. This unit, branded Atolla, has 7 USB ports plus 1 USB smart charger port. They operate as they should, especially the smart charger. That the charger for the hub is dual voltage is a nice touch and a requirement these days. The downside: the on/off button for each USB port doesn’t do squat, as the port I’m trying to deactivate still remains lit.Otherwise, a very good purchase.

Does Exactly What It States With No Fuss – The Solution!
If you’re anything like me (A Professional DJ/Producer) and if you have a MAC with limited input/output choices this would be the go to solution. For years now I have been having to go behind my MAC to unplug and re-plug USB devices so that I could use them. It’s not because of my limited technical knowledge either (certified computer technical support). I could find no solution that I could live with for the price range that I was seeking.. The products that I researched all had low quality parts and components along with no power supply.As you know an Imac generally doesn’t have a large power supply unit (for that you need a MAC PRO). To make matters worse my MAC came with a Bluetooth Magic Mouse that is horrible! It drops connection often and doesn’t play nice with most rechargeable batteries (the keyboard doesn’t have this issue…). I now use an Apple USB Mighty Mouse so that it does not. I have other Bluetooth devices in my home; therefore, I can’t see this as being an interference issue the other devices work fine.Now, I don’t need to unplug my DJ/Production equipment from the back of my Imac anymore! I’m also going to purchase one of these hubs as a mobile unit for my Macbook Pro. I recommend this for any MAC user that has limited input/output options and would like to expand USB ports/devices.*I also recommend this for any PC user that has this requirement! I utilize PC’s in my home network as well and this device has worked flawlessly since I got it. You can power the ports on or off individually which was a major added plus for me. I have no use for all seven other USB 3.0 ports on my PC or MACs. Further all of my PC’s have many internal USB 3.0/3.1 ports due to front panel box expansion and additional USB 2.0/3.0/3.1 headers on the motherboard. However, they are nice to have and should I ever require them they’re there.The overall quality of the device is impressive for the price. As I stated prior the individual power on/off ports are wonderful, the ports themselves are seemingly study and not flimsy. It has a cord that extends quite a bit to plug into the back/front of any machine in the most awkward situations. You can even charge your IPAD, IPHONE, Tablets, Androids, and others using the charging port on the device.*I was looking for something anything bad & creepy to say about this little cheap device. I could find nothing that’s an additional added plus.
