Bright, flexible lighting that is packed with features
These NEEWER RGB strips are some of the nicest lights I have tried. They are made of a soft silicone material that bends easily, so running them around corners or shaping them along a wall is simple. The light they put out is smooth and bright, not the usual dot pattern you see with thinner LED strips. These are nice and thick, and you can really see that from the light they put out.The segmented control is what really stands out. Each section can run its own color and pattern, so you can get flowing effects that look clean and professional. The app gives you a ton of options and connects fast. I also tried the voice control through Alexa and it worked without any trouble. Just make sure you are using a 2.4 GHz network.The preset scenes cover a lot of moods and the music sync feature reacts quickly to sound. It adds a fun look to a gaming setup or a movie room. I also like that the control box has a built in mic so you do not have to rely only on the phone.Since the strip is fully silicone, it feels durable and can be used outdoors. It is flexible enough to follow trim lines around a patio or deck and still look clean.If you want lighting with more effects than basic LED strips and something that is easy to shape, these are a solid upgrade and well worth it.

Hours of fun on so many levels!
There are so many ways to have fun with this! Here are a few:Tactile feel = stellar and soothingBending into shapes = infinite creativityEnjoy the molded shape = art gallery exhibitColored lights mode = hours of star-gazing/cloud-watchingMusic mode = light show concert to music or bark sounds at it and watch it respondNow that’s a lot of fun, and we haven’t even put it on the wall yet! (see video). So much fun, I didn’t test the included adhesive and mounting brackets. It’s just so fun and just the right length to mold and remold into shape after shape. Even without using the adhesive, it’s 3M, so I fully trust in its holding quality.The light quality itself is so dazzling to watch, we traded all our TV/movie time for this light show instead. Although it does have a hypnotic, trance-like effect that lasts after the lights go out, so I’d save it for winding down (unless you opt for all-out barking at it, in which case, it has a riling effect).I don’t have Alexa, so I couldn’t test “Google Assistant Alexa via WIFI”, the “Wireless App & Smart Voice Control” features. I got along just fine with the onboard remote, and since 5 GHz networks aren’t supported, I couldn’t have used these features… in my video, you can laugh along with us as we substitute “smart voice” commands for barking at the device (literally).The color options run from the standard, “cool, warm, neutral” white shades for an old-fashioned static neon sign effect, or toggle through swirling rainbows, single color spotlights, a candy corn pattern (in color organization, not literally), and the music mode flashing light synchronization (available on the onboard remote as well). The remote is hardwired onto the power cord, so there’s no chance of losing it!

Lights aren’t as smooth as the listing shows but is high quality
This is a nice LED light strip. It’s more flexible than I imagine it was going to be. It does feel like it’s nice quality and that it will work well.The fact that it can be controlled by an app is very nice. It is also nice that it comes with everything you need to install it.The negatives for me is that it’s so expensive. I get that it’s high quality but the fact that you can still see individual LED lights and it’s lit up and it’s not as perfectly smooth as the listing shows to me. Just doesn’t justify the price of nearly 50 bucks. It seems like it will be durable and you have a bunch of color options.But all in all, it gets four stars from me just because it’s so expensive and the lights aren’t as continuous as the listing shows.

Great wifi neon-style RGBW Rope light from Neewer
Very colorful, reminds me of a glow bracelet. The default modes includes several sound-based options that are actually very cool and responsive. Using the app, there are even more effects and options. This doesn’t use the neewer photography app, instead it uses Neewer Home which is a bit easier to use. I was very impressed with the connectivity — it uses wifi, and the app immediately detected it without requiring any power-cycling.The individual LEDs within the rope are very well diffused by the casing making them appear to fade smoothly into each other. I’m a little surprised by the size of the rope — the profile is sort of a keyhole shape with a large portion non-light emitting. At first I expected it might contain some deformable wire, but this is not the case. You have to shape it by bending it and anchoring it in the right places.It is quite flexible, however, unlike such products when I was in college, this rope isn’t hard to bend.It seems that the entire electronics of it are within silicone or some kind of soft plastic, meaning it should be quite durable, and it seems the price is the better end for such a “neon-alike” rope. Alexa / Google Home integration also a plus.
