Kidde reputation and reliability make these the right purchase
This brand has set the standard in small fire extinguishers for a long time. These were replacements for the ones that have been on my boat for more than a decade. Value comes from the fact that you can rely on them. The size remained standard so I could have used the old brackets but the plastic gets brittle after a while so I use the new brackets that came with these. The holes didn’t line up exactly so I had to drill one more hole but other than that, nothing more to do for another 12 years!

mount could be better for a boat
I am hoping to never need it. The mount is not the best if you mount this in an open smaller fishing boat. The lower part keeps bumping up and down. I bought a couple of straps that I screwed in. Yes it will take longer to get to it when needed but that is better than to have lost it during transport.

I haven’t used it, thank goodness! It looks like a normal fire extinguisher with a good quality build. The size was right for my 24 ft boat. The price was great and it seems like it’ll work. Every boat needs to have one on board!
