I have been reading nonstop since I got my Kindle, I love it!
I was on the fence about buying a kindle for a long time. Listen to me when I say DO IT! It has become an extension of my body at this point. It goes everywhere with me, it’s lightweight and super easy to hold. I have read more in my 10 days since buying it than I have in a really long time. When my boyfriend is sleeping I can still read without having to keep lights on. The screen has no blue light and doesn’t hurt my eyes like reading on my phone does. It connected to my Amazon account super easily and I started reading maybe like 20 minutes after I opened it and downloaded the books I wanted. It integrates with the phone app really well and I can download things on the app and send them to my kindle in a couple of minutes. It allows you to change the font itself and the font size. I currently have it set to a font that helps with dyslexia. I don’t know how it works but it does, I’ve been able to focus more on my books and read them easier. Pictures do not do the screen justice. When you are using it it literally looks like a piece of paper with writing on it. It’s so cool! I have the version with ads and it doesn’t bother me at all, it’s only on the lock screen so I don’t even really see them half the time, I just turn on my kindle and swipe up and they’re gone. They aren’t intrusive and don’t happen when the kindle is on. You can also pay to remove them later which I’m probably not going to do because they don’t bother me at all. The dictionary function is really cool, I love being able to look up words I’m unsure about without having to leave the book. The settings are really easy to understand and change when needed. I don’t use dark mode very often but it’s a nice feature to have. I also love the warmth feature, I didn’t think I would care about it much but it helps with my eye strain. You can also translate words instantly which is really cool! The battery also lasts forever which is nice because I have a habit of forgetting to charge my electronics. It’s also waterproof so if I spill something on it and I’ve already used it to read in a bubble bath. If you’re expecting a tablet you won’t like this, it’s not a tablet. It’s a reading device and a really good one.

99.9 percent pros, have only had to charge it once, great availability of accessories, BUY IT
I was on the fence about buying this as I had the kindle fire tablets and I like them a lot but I found myself watching things more than reading or listening. For a strictly reading device, ive always been a Barnes and noble nook tablet user however, the devices kept getting worse and worse and so got a Samsung tablet with the nook app…then that eventually broke and switched to Amazon tablet my friend helped me with and added the nook app…then I started doing the kindle challenges and those required kindle books, so started getting more kindle than Epub books at library, now overdrive is done and libby has taken over and using primarily kindle versions. Now I am amazon girlie. Have kindle unlimited and audible subscriptions (also hiiighly recommend) and try to win all the bookmarks for the kindle challenges…So decided might as well go all in and not get distracted by notifications from social media or be tempted to watch things instead of read…so complete win on that front. It’s taken me awhile to figure out how to use it : mwhere to tap to put bookmark, go back to library, adjust display. I do LOVE that I can choose the warmth of the screen color and not have it be only white or back which I think is the case for other models, bc my eyes really prefer sepia or a more golden color.I heard the battery was amazing and at first I was ready to call Bullpucky as it quickly went down to 80s, but read it can do that at first esp after setting up and updating things…so finished everything, charged it, amd that was more than a month ago….I haven’t used it a ton but most days of the week and so prob added up at least 24 hours use of the battery …and its STILL going-rn 61 percent charge and again hasn’t been charged in weeks…100 percent agree it has AMAZING BATTERY 👏 👌 👍Def should get this kindle, worth every dollar…I also highly recommend the Strapsicle(large size for this model) for help holding it for long time Or if you want to read for longer times i really enjoyed Ewaidi brand 7″/6.8 case for 12/11 gen and colorsoft se pink hello kitty case/stand that works perfectly for this kindle…what i love is it can balance on your lap or flat surface…both of these accessories come in various colors and patterns but I got lilac for the strapsicle and pink kitty for the stand, I will mostly likely buy the champagne color strapsicle as well bc I think it would look pretty with this teal kindle , then prob get the strapsicle clutch tooSo other than still getting used to the controls and wishing they maybe were a bit more like the kindle fire or kindle app everything else has been a pro and no regrets buying it…If you cam swing it def buy this, kindle unlimited, audible, sign up for library card/libby, and get accessories that make reading easier and most of all have fun and enjoy your new device!!

    Skeptic Won Over
It’s taken me years to try a Kindle, as I love books. I read every night before sleep. I didn’t want another device to bring next to my bed. I love physical books and couldn’t imagine not having them. However, due to a family members failing health I was required to travel a lot more and for longer periods of time internationally. Lugging all the books I needed to get me through was too much. Getting English books in my location was too time consuming and difficult. So, I broke down and bought a Kindle Reader.I love that I could set the level of brightness and the font size to meet my needs. Wow, that really helped with issues I didn’t know I had! But the tool that I fell most in love with was the highlighter. I didn’t highlight my physical books. It felt like destruction to me. But a digital book is different. It is just for me and it doesn’t ruin it for anyone else. Plus, Kindle showed how many other readers had highlighted the same passage. It connected me to all the other readers who found joy, insight or meaning in a passage. It helped me feel connected to the larger fabric of humanity in positive ways. It also collected all my highlights in one place that I can go back and read or find to share. I never run out of books to read or have to make an emergency visit to the library. However, I can always still pick up a physical book whenever the impulse moves me. The only down side I can think of is that my wrist starts to ache when holding the Kindle for long periods of time – like many hours in airports across the globe. ; )For all you skeptics, try it, you just might five star like it!
