Robust, easy to install
I used this remote switch to replace a pair of wall switches. The existing switches (two switches ganged in one box) would be inaccessible behind a tall cabinet once we finished moving furniture around. I installed the two remote modules after removing the existing toggle switches from the electrical double-gang box and mounted the double remote “toggle” switch nearby but in a fully accessible location. The electronic switch modules are smaller than the legacy toggle switches, so they fit nicely in the electrical box. The remote modules each have a small red & a green LED which indicates if the switch is in the ON (green) or OFF (red) mode. Although in most installations you probably won’t be able to see these LEDs, they do help in confirming that you’ve wired up everything correctly. Note that in order to install these inside a switch box, you MUST have white (neutral) wires inside the box. If there is no white wire(s) inside the box, the remote module will have to be installed at the fixture instead. The included switches which activate the remote modules use no batteries at all, which is extremely clever and useful. No batteries to replace, as other remote switches have! On this double-gang set, the two toggles are made slimmer so that TWO toggles fit in the space of ONE toggle, which is another huge plus: the double switch unit is exactly the same width as a single standard switch, and a standard “Decora” switch plate could be used instead of the included one, so you install the switch with any switch plate from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The switch itself is very shallow so if you want you could simply screw the switch & switch plate assembly onto the wall directly (no box needed) or use the enclosed double-sided tape. As the entire switch assembly is so shallow and only sticks out a little from the wall, it looks fine surface mounted. The whole shebang is made in the US, and is of a very high quality. Even the wires are stranded, tinned copper; being so flexible makes it easier to install. Highly recommend this remote switch!

solved a huge problem for me very easily
It was expensive than others, but I believe it was money well spent. The material seems very durable and the instructions were very clear with two options to mount the sensor. Installation was easy and it works great and looks great.

Works Perfectly! Great for Vacation Rentals & Home Upgrades!
While this is definitely not a cheap way to add a secondary/remote switch, this is a terrific switch system–the best in my opinion and well worth the cost. It feels extremely sturdy and well crafted. For my use, I needed it to provide a light switch at a front door for a vacation rental so guests don’t have to blindly walk across the room looking for a light switch in the dark. I ordered a tree-way system (to retain control at the original location too) and replaced the switch in a triple-bank of switches (see picture–fits and looks perfect –the one labeled “Counter/NL” and were able to fit the receiver/controller in the box behind the switch. The second remote switch was installed by the front door, surface mounted (mounting plate was included). As I am not onsite and don’t live nearby, I didn’t want the risk of batteries failing in between my maintenance visits and this switch seemed to fit the bill. Well, it does, hands-down, and I have full-faith that it will last for a very long time based on it’s quality of construction. The concept, design and quality are second to none. $200 well spent for peace of mind and liability. Thank you for a well built, American-made product! This is my honest opinion/review, having purchased, installed and currently using the switch system; If you find my review helpful, please clink the “Helpful” button below, thank you.

1 year in — works well, but is different than a conventional switch
The important stuff: about 1 year after installing, I can report that it works well and has had zero malfunctions. Two things worth considering:1. The size of the remote transmitter box means it may not fit every fixture.2. If you’re picky, you should note that the rocker switch does not function like a regular decora switch. A regular switch rocks all the way to one side, on, and all the way to the other, off. This switch rests in the middle, and springs back when pressed. It requires more effort than a regular switch, and feels and sounds different. This is minor, but consider it if it is important to you.

It works as advertised, easy to install
I live in a condo that needed an extra switch installed for lights in our kitchen that were only wired to a switch in the hallway. The alternate would have been to pay someone to run wires through the wall, and so this was an easy workaround. Installation was easy, very little handyman knowledge is required; note that for wall switch replacement there does need to be a “neutral” wire in addition to the two switch wires. If the neutral wire (usually 2 white wires connected together in the wall switch junction box and/or actually connected to the existing switch) then the only way to install the switching transmitter is so do it in the actual light fixture (where the light attaches to the wall or ceiling) and not the wall switch. The instructions are minimal but most would be easy to figure it out I think. I attached the new remote switch to the wall using double-stick tape, rather than the flimsy double-stick pads that come with the switch. Kinda pricey but way cheaper and easier than actually re-wiring.

Worked Great Until Power Went Out
This solved a huge problem for me and worked great until the power went out – it stopped working when the power came back on. Is this a known issue with a fix or am I stuck having to buy a new one whenever the power goes out?
